Obituary of Michael Allen Greenway
Michael Allen Greenway, age 70, of Helvetia, WV, died Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Genesis White Sulphur Springs Center in White Sulphur Springs, WV. He was born July 31, 1954, in Fort Meade, MD, a son of the late Donald and Opal Daff Greenway. On September 6, 1975, he married Dorothy McNeal of Helvetia, who survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Adelene Greenway-Bryson of Helvetia; three sons, Michael "Brent" Greenway and wife Kiley of Springfield, WV, Dustin Greenway and wife Melody of Helvetia, and Casey Greenway and wife Rachel of Boise, ID; nine grandchildren, Michael, Victoria, and Gabriel Bryson, Caleb Chidester, Joselynn Greenway, Brianna Greenway, Jacob Rice, Shyanne Boothe and baby Everleigh; three siblings, Wayne Greenway of Fairmont, WV, Judy Bassett of Sebring, FL, and Donald "Ink" Greenway of Weston, WV and several nieces and nephews. Mike led a life marked by hard work, passion, and a commitment to his family. His dedication to the coal mining industry of nearly 50 years, earned him respect of his colleagues and he formed lifelong friendships. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed golfing, hunting, and basketball. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Gauley Bridge No. 64. Mike was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. Friends will be received Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Pickens Cemetery in Pickens, WV. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
