Michael Greve

SIDNEY -- Michael John Greve, age 64 previously of Sidney, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2022, at 3:24 PM at Everheart Hospice in Greenville, Ohio. He was born the son of Ralph and Norma (Doseck) Greve on February 4, 1958, in Lima.

He is survived by his family, his wife Terri L (Frasure) Greve, children, Jamie R. (James) Moeller, Jacqueline A. (Sam) Bashmakov, Jessica L. Greve, grandchildren, Ava Moeller, Leilani Bashmakov, Sebastian Watercutter and Scarlett Greve, siblings, Lawrence Greve (Diana), Dennis Greve (Patricia), Patricia (Roger) Mack, Kay Greve, Douglas Greve (Nancy), Richard Greve (Grace), Jeffrey Greve (LeeAnn), Gregory Greve (Kathy), 26 nieces and nephews and 55 great-nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Norma Greve, brother Randall Greve and father-in-law Randall Frasure.

Michael was a graduate of Botkins High School. Michael loved basketball and coached at Holy Angels and Lehman Catholic High School for 17 years. He also announced games at Lehman and on the local radio station. Michael had an incredibly generous heart. He ushered at Holy Angels Catholic Church and served on the parish council. He genuinely cared for others. It was not uncommon to see him plowing his neighbors' driveways after a snowstorm or giving a fresh coat of paint to the church pillars. He volunteered his vocal talents to several Charity League shows and other fundraisers. Michael was a born entertainer, both off and on the stage. He was a very talented singer and sang for countless weddings, funerals, and shows. His karaoke skills were the life of the party, and he loved to make people laugh. He never knew a stranger, and he was a very loyal friend. Michael was a dedicated family man and will be missed greatly by his family and friends. He loved his girls deeply, and he considered himself blessed beyond measure to have the love of his life, Terri, by his side.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 116 N. Mill Street, Botkins, Ohio, 45306 on Thursday, August 4, 2022, with Fr. Michael Willig, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home and on Thursday 8:45 AM to 9:45 AM at the funeral home.
