Michael Allan Gribben

Michael Allan Gribben passed away on February 11, 2025. Mike led a very full life. He was born on September 1, 1958 in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up there with his many cousins and life-long friends.
He graduated from Holy Redeemer High School in 1976. While in high school, he worked at Little Chef, where he ignited his interest in cooking and also honed his guitar skills while playing in the Billy Wimble Band which opened for Canned Heat and Steppenwolf and played on many stages in Detroit.
He then went to Scripps Howard School of Broadcasting earning his degree in Radio Broadcasting.
He landed a DJ job in California and headed there, but he took a shortcut to Texas and instead started working as an iron worker in the jail construction industry with La Bahia Construction. He traveled to many locations all over Texas with this job. During this time he met his wife of 40 years, Lynne and his oldest daughter, Melissa. He did this job for several years and we had our daughter Kortni while on the road.
We ended up in San Antonio, TX where he opened and ran a lawn service and small engine repair shop.
He eventually closed the businesses and went to work for Bexar Electric (IES) working on the electrical construction of many notable businesses in the San Antonio Area as well as most of the Drury Hotels in San Antonio and the Valley. He worked for McBride Electric for a short time. He acquired his Master Electrician license and opened Southern Electric & Lighting in Floresville, TX in 2011. He made many friends and customers with this business. While he ran this business, he also had a love for his motorcycle and was apart of the Regualdores LEMC with his wife. In April 2024 he decided to return to his love of hot rods and guitars by closing his business and retiring.
Mike is preceded in death by his mom Theresa Borg Gribben and his fathers Albert Gribben and Marvin Tomes. His sister Alice Hamrick and husband Richard. His brother Albert Gribbon and wife Mary Ann. Brother Jimmy Gribben. Brother in law Harvey Holland.
He is survived by his loving wife Lynne Gipson Gribben. Daughter Melissa Mayberry. Daughter Kortni Wiloth and husband Timothy. Sister Josephine Holland. Sister in law Christi Forsha and husband Chris. Brother Rodger Martin and wife Rhonda. Grandchildren Dean Newcomb, Easton, Kali, Hunter and Kyra. Many nieces and nephews.
