Michael "Mike" James Grimaldi was born in New York, on January 7, 1969, and passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025, at the age of 56. Michael is survived by his wife of 27 years, Lissette Grimaldi; daughters, Julia Harrison and Melissa Rivera; six grandchildren; and four siblings: Diana, Dominique, Phillip, and Russell; as well as 14 nieces and nephews. His sister Veronica and parents, Donald Grimaldi and Elizabeth Holland are no longer with us but in our hearts.
Michael's love for his family was immense. He never let many days pass without ensuring his family felt loved and appreciated. When Michael and Lissette married, he gained an instant family, and for the next 27 years, he never looked back. He loved them unconditionally. Though he loved his daughters and wife, Mike's favorite role was that of a grandfather. He treasured his time with his six grandkids:
Jayden, Caysen, Austen, Dawsen, Alonte, and Daquan Jr. Mike loved being their "grampa," and fulfilling his "grampa withdrawals" by sharing many hours of play, building model train tracks, as well as bringing them to museums, train shows and to the tracks to see some "action". Mike also had a soft spot for his cats, treating each one like a valuable family member and often posting their antics on social media.
Michael forged lifelong relationships with his friends, notably Arthur Williams, who was more like a brother than a friend. Together, they enjoyed spending time in Callicoon,
"Hanging out on the Road," and attending concerts. Through life's ups and downs, they managed to grow their friendship, like in a scene from "Stand by Me".
Michael will always be remembered for his charismatic, free-spirited, headstrong personality. We will remember him for consistently placing his family first, especially his wife, Lissette. We will always imagine hearing him say "BURR" one more time (If you know, you know). We will miss Michael every day. His memory will live on in all those who loved him.
Calling hours for Michael will be held from 1-4PM on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at Colonial Forastiere Funeral & Cremation, 985 Main St.,
Agawam, MA with a Celebration of Life ceremony beginning at 4PM. For online condolences please visit www.forastiere.com.
