Michael Grzesik Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 19, 2026.
Michael Joseph Grzesik, of Big Sandy, Tennessee, formerly of Pinckney, Michigan, passed away at his home on Friday, March 13, 2026. Mike was born on May 23, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, to John Joseph Grzesik and Lucille Spurrier Grzesik. He attended Pershing High School. He was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings.

Mike is survived by his devoted wife, Chaine Corso, whom he loved deeply. He leaves behind his cherished children: loving daughter June Owens (Gary) of Plymouth, Michigan; Lea Zarro (Edward Huber) of Naples, Florida; and Darin Zarro (Tiffany Johns) of Big Sandy, Tennessee. He was a proud grandfather to Kailey Owens (Andrew Israel) and Kelsey (David) Witters, and a delighted great grandfather to Claire and Sarah.

A proud patriot, Mike served in the Army National Guard for seven and a half years at the missile site in Warren, Michigan. He later began working on the assembly line at Ford Motor Company, where his dedication and leadership led him to become a Union Representative then Committeeman. Eventually becoming a long serving UAW Bargaining Committeeman, all roles he took great pride in. Mike retired after 33 years of service with Ford.

Mike and Chaine were married on Portage Lake in Pinckney, Michigan, beginning a beautiful chapter together. They moved to Tennessee in 2016, where Mike embraced a life he truly loved. He spent his days fishing, refurbishing boats, tending to his large yard, and working in his pole barn. He enjoyed trips to the casino and cheering on the University of Michigan football team.

Mike was a deeply spiritual man, and his faith guided him throughout his life. His quiet strength, compassion, and sense of purpose were rooted in that spirituality, shaping the way he treated others-with patience, kindness, and an open heart.

Mike was known for his loyalty, generosity, and gentle spirit. He had a way of making people feel welcome and valued, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
