Michael Gulland Obituary

VIRGINIA BEACH, VIRGINIA- Michael Ray Gulland's journey began on October 20, 1989, in Weaverville, CA, where he was lovingly welcomed by Ross and Mary Gulland. He grew up immersed in the beauty of Golden Sierra High School, nurturing a deep-seated love for cars and the thrill of speed.
His life took him on a path of service and honor in the Navy, where his bravery earned him accolades including the Army Commendation Medal and multiple Navy awards. Beyond his military achievements, Michael was a dedicated member of various car clubs, blending his passions seamlessly into his everyday life and was a student at ECPI.
Michael leaves behind cherished memories of his late grandfather Charles Gulland and Aunt Lori Coldren (Gulland). Yet, his spirit lives on through the love and strength of his family. Mary and Ross Gulland, along with his brothers Richard and Springer Blankenship, held him close alongside nieces Camryn, Emma, and Arianna, and nephew Maddix Blankenship. His grandmothers Donna Gulland and Norma Mahagan, uncles Scott Gulland and Tom Stevens, aunt Barbara Johnson, and sisters-in-law Jenny and Sherawn Blankenship also share in the profound loss.
In honor of Michael's memory, the family kindly requests donations to organizations close to his heart, such as Wounded Warriors or Tunnel to Towers, in lieu of flowers.
A private memorial service in Maryland provided solace for Michael's immediate family, with plans for a later gathering to celebrate his life with all who loved him, a testament to the impact he had on countless hearts.
