Michael Gurule, known affectionately as Mike, passed away on June 15, 2024, at the age of 47 in Grants, NM. He was born on November 15, 1976 in Las Vegas, NM.
Mike grew into a man revered for his loving, caring, and patient nature. Throughout his life, Mike dedicated much of his time to helping others in need, volunteering with the homeless ministries and Grants Community Pantry for the elderly.
Mike cherished his family deeply, especially his nephews and nieces, whom he passionately taught various skills ranging from chess and golf to cooking and auto mechanics. An avid lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed camping, swimming, fishing, and grilling. His adventurous spirit was also evident in his love for trying and sharing new and exotic foods with his loved ones. Mike’s selfless spirit and warm presence touched many lives, and his absence will be profoundly felt by all who knew him.
He is survived by his Mother Linda Lopez, Girlfriend Samuela Sitonik, Daughter Esperanza Garduno, Son Leandro Garduno, Siblings, Gerald Trujillo (Valerie Espinoza), Denise Lucero (David), Leonore Dominguez, John Gurule (Crystal), and Natalie Otero, Niece’s Daisy Ramos (Rick), Angelica Lucero (Isaac Rivera), Melissa Caraballo (Antonio), Desiree Herrera, Candace Padilla (Jake Ulibarri), Emily and Chantelle Gurule, Alyssa and Leah Loera, Nephews, Matthew Loera (Rochelle), Jonathan Dominguez (Alma), David Gurule, Andre Boyer (Annette Griego), Anthony Jaramillo, Chris, Kaleb and Ethan Loera and many great nephews and nieces. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Amen Gurule, Brother Shawn Gurule, Nephew Nathan Dominguez, Maternal grandparents, Jose Maria and Louise Herrera and Paternal grandparents, Santiago and Doloras Gurule.
A service to honor Mike’s life will be held at Trujillo Family Funeral in Albuquerque, NM, located at 110 Alvarado Dr. SE, on June 27th, from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. The Trujillo Family Funeral Home will assist in commemorating Mike’s legacy, ensuring a respectful and heartfelt farewell. Mike’s life was a testament to the impact one individual can have on the community and his loved ones, and he will be missed deeply.
