Crippin Funeral Home - MontroseMichael Anthony Guzman passed away suddenly on February 10th, 2026. He was born in San Jose, California on August 23rd, 1967, to Frank Guzman and Sylvia Maestas. He grew up in California and attended James Lick High School in the Bay Area. He moved to Montrose in 1993 where he remained until his passing.
Michael found the love of his life Renne Guzman on Thanksgiving Day in 2008 and married on August 24th, 2009. He became a father to three children Mari, Daniel, and Michael. He loved them like his own and they became an instant family. His true joy in life came with the births of his grandchildren Arieon, Autumn, Emanuel, Aiden, Marceline, and Aaliyanah. To them, he was the best Papo in the world.
Michael lived his life to the fullest. He loved talking to anyone he came across and became immediate lifelong friends, remembering every detail and word spoken for years. He enjoyed watching every sport imaginable on TV or in person. His love for the Raiders went deep. He loved riding his motorcycle and his Harley was his baby. Michael and Renne went on may rides together. There was never a day you wouldn’t catch Michael blasting music while making some sort of delicious meal watching whatever sport was on TV. He couldn’t wait for the weekends to come so he could just relax or spend time with his grandbabies.
Michael is preceded in death by his father Frank Guzman, Pops Joe Maestas, niece Janine Maestas, and his cousins Ralph Gonzales, Anthony Flores and David Celaya.
Michael is survived by his wife Renne Guzman. Daughter Mari Moreno and grandkids Arieon, Aiden, and Autumn. Son Daniel (Kierra) Moreno and grandkids Emanuel, Marceline, and Aaliyana. Son Michael Moreno. His mother Sylvia Maestas and Aunt Martha Celaya. His brothers and sisters, Gina Guzman, Michelle Guzman-Flores, Angela Guzman, Philip Guzman, Nick Guzman, Joey Maestas, Gina Johnson, Nicki Webb, Lori Maestas, and Jerry Maestas. His nephews Nathan Maestas, Cameron Monthes, and Jerius (Sean) Holmblad. His Cousins Steve Landice and Denise Celaya and many more uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Michael was loved by so many and he will truly be missed. A celebration of life will be held on March 7th, 2026, from 1pm to 5pm at the Montrose Elks Lodge. The family invites anyone whose lives were touched by Michael and would like to help celebrate his life.
