Michael Ernest Hankins

Michael Ernest Hankins, 18, of Charles Town, WV, passed away on December 9, 2025.

Born on August 28, 2007, in Harrisonburg, VA, he was the son of Bruce and Rachel Hankins.

Michael was a graduate of Washington High School class of 2025 and loved playing his guitar.

In addition to his loving parents of Charles Town, WV, he is survived by his fiancé, Lee Laird of Harpers Ferry, WV; his sister, Madison Hankins of Charles Town, WV; his brother, Jackson Hankins of Charles Town, WV; maternal grandmother, Connie Branch; Paternal grandparents, Susan Buzzard and husband, Jim and Bruce Hankins, Sr.; maternal great-grandmother, Linda Toth; paternal great-grandmother, Janice Hankins; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Dan Branch, Sr.; maternal great-grandfather, Dennis "Skip" Toth; and paternal great-grandfather, Earnest Hankins.

Services will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 2:00 P.M., at Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, 256 Halltown Road, Harpers Ferry, WV, with Pastor Stephen Smith-Cobbs officiating.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to service at the funeral home.
