Michael Hastings, 66, of Fergus Falls, MN, died Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Traverse Care Center in Wheaton, MN.
Michael Bryan Hastings was born July 5, 1958, to Donald Hastings and Joanne (Burlingame) Morton in Cedar Rapids, IA. He attended Lincoln High School in Sioux Falls, SD graduating in 1976.
In August of 1994 Mike married Juli McCabe in Fergus Falls. To this union twin boys were born, Alexander and Mason.
Mike had a long and eventful career in the restaurant industry. He moved to Fergus Falls, MN in 1978 to manage the Godfather's Pizza in the newly opened Westridge Mall. Ten years later he purchased both the Fergus Falls and Alexandria, MN locations. Later opening Godfather's Pizza in Detroit Lakes, MN and Wahpeton, ND. Later in life, Mike worked for USPS in Foxhome, MN. Most recently he worked for Ryan Carlson with Stella's in Battle Lake, MN.
He enjoyed golfing for several years at Pebble Lake Golf Course and pheasant hunting in his younger years while growing up in South Dakota. He earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and enjoyed listening to the music of Jimmy Buffet. Mike was a man of deep, private faith in Jesus Christ.
Preceding him in death were his father, Don Hastings; grandparents, Bryan and Agnes Hastings and Margaret and Oliver Burlingame; uncles, Bill Burlingame and Ken Hastings; aunt, Marlene (Hastings) Mekvold; cousin, Gary Burlingame and lifelong friend, Mike Whittrock.
Mike is survived by his children, Alexander Hastings and Mason Hastings both of Fergus Falls; his former wife, Juli McCabe-Hastings of Fergus Falls; his mother and step-father, Joanne and Dave Morton of Brandon, SD; sister, Kim Hastings of Portales, NM; brother, Jeff (Criss) Hastings of Aberdeen, NC, aunt, Mary Lammers; uncle, Wallace Burlingame and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and his faithful dog and companion, Gunner.
Mike was a lifelong fan of the Minnesota Vikings. Please wear your Viking or purple attire.
Memorials are preferred to Warrior 180 Foundation.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2025 at Olson Funeral and Cremation in Fergus Falls, with visitation one-hour prior to the service.
