Michael Landon Heinze, born on February 23, 2006, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at home in Carney, Oklahoma, on September 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. His journey was marked with remarkable strength and resilience, having been diagnosed with Juvenile Huntington Disease in February of 2020. Despite the challenges he faced, Michael's spirit remained unyielding, and he became a source of inspiration to all who knew him.
Adopted by Amber and Kelly Coleman on May 31, 2019, Michael flourished in a loving home, where he was cherished not only by his parents but also by his siblings Virtue, Kymbrianna, Gracelyn, Tucker, Chris, Hunter, and Christian, along with his wife Tara. His grandparents, Sue, Mike, Becky, Jeanie, Joann, Debra and Rick played a significant role in his life, enveloping him in support and affection that he deeply cherished.
Michael had a love for life's simple pleasures, finding joy in eating tacos, pizza, and cheeseburgers. He especially treasured the time spent with his best friend Brance and his classmates, who brought laughter and camaraderie into his days. Those who were fortunate enough to know him encountered a vibrant spirit, a warrior in the truest sense, whose bravery and story resonated deeply within the hearts of his friends and family.
Michael's indomitable spirit was further recognized when he was made an honorary deputy of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office in December of 2021, an honor that spoke volumes about the respect and admiration he garnered within his community.
As we reflect on Michael's life, we remember not only his struggles but also the joy he spread. A Celebration of Life will be held in his memory on October 4, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Carney High School, 204 Carney St, Carney, OK 74832. We ask everyone to wear any Star Wars, Pokemon, or Mine Craft items you may have.
He is preceded in death by his biological father Patrick, grandmother Paulletta, grandfather Tom, and sister Skylar, who are surely watching over him now. While Michael is no longer with us, his spirit and legacy live on through the lives he touched, reminding us of the light he brought into the world. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered by his family and friends.
