Michael Paul Herrera, a 43-year-old resident of Sacramento, California, passed away on October 31, 2025. He was born on March 4, 1982, in Merced, California. Michael attended C.K. McClatchy High School, where he played baseball and soccer, graduating with the class of 2000. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 17 years.

Michael was a devoted father, son and uncle, cherished by his family and friends. A proud Kings fan, Michael enjoyed working as a ball boy for the Sacramento Kings from 2001 to 2009. When he wasn't watching basketball, he was watching football or participating in his fantasy football league. The San Francisco 49ers were his favorite team.

Michael is survived by his son, Michael Jeffrey Herrera; his parents, Raul and Susan Herrera; his grandparents, Rafael and Ernestina Herrera; his siblings, Vanessa Herrera and Raul Herrera Jr.; his nieces, Laila Herrera and Estella Herrera; and his dog nephew, Po. He is also survived by his loving extended family, including aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Antonio R. Gomez and Anita D. Gomez.

Michael will be remembered for his kind and friendly energy, his laughter and jokes, and his love for his family and friends.

Services at St. Mary's Funeral Chapel will begin with a viewing at 5:30 p.m., followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, November 28. Funeral Services will be held at St. Mary's Funeral Chapel on Saturday, November 29, at 10:00 a.m.
