Michael Lee Howell went home to the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2022 at the age of 72. He went peacefully in his longtime home in Wooster while surrounded by his family and loved ones after battling a long term illness.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Glenna (Harper) Turner, father, Clarence "Pete" Howell and brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Beverly Howell who all passed into eternal grace. He is survived by his wife, Linda (Herman) Howell who he married on June 4, 1982; his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Amber Howell of Punta Gorda, FL and Aaron and Danielle Howell and granddaughters, Ava and Erika of Creston; his brother and sister-in-law, David and Donna Howell and children Glenna (Doug) Koepnick and Seth (Meredith) Howell and brother Don's daughter, Katy Mizer.
Mike enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family through fishing, camping and relaxing on the beach. He loved the ocean and sailing and in the 1970's lived in Santa Barbara, CA working on a fishing boat and avocado ranch. Michael and his wife Linda worked together with Standardbred Race horses on the race track and Castleton Farms in Lexington, KY before settling in the Wooster area.
Michael was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed by his wife of 40 years, his family, friends, his granddaughters that he cherished with all his heart and soul.
Having worked for the Nick Amster Workshop in Wooster for many years, he enjoyed the glory of retirement by tending to his home and the horses while enjoying family trips to different beaches in Florida and North Carolina. Michael wanted nothing more out of life than his family's happiness and it is because of his hard work and devotion to them that they achieved happiness.
While there will be no formal services, thoughts and well-wishes can be shared at www.Murray-Funeral-Home.com Memorial contributions may be made to LifeCare Hospice, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, OH 44691.
