Mr. Michael Leo Hughes

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mr. Michael "Mike" Leo Hughes, age 77, of Jefferson, Georgia, who passed away on Monday, December 1, 2025. Mr. Hughes was born in Galion, Ohio, a son to the late Lawrence Buford Hughes Sr. and the late Phylliss Schwartz Hughes. Mr. Hughes was retired from Columbus Showcase in Bellevue, Ohio where he was an engineer. He later worked as a security officer in Gainesville, Georgia, for Fieldale Farms. Along with his wife, he loved to care for and ride their horses together. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by his son, Adam Hughes.

Mr. Hughes is survived by his wife Linda Crissinger Hughes of Jefferson, GA; granddaughters, Jaclyn Armbruster, of Rising Sun, IN and Tara Hughes of Lawrenceville, GA; sisters, Phyran Ruess of Flower Mound, TX and Teresa Haas of Ashford, CT; brother, Lawrence Buford Hughes Jr. of Galion, OH and brother in law, Steve Neff of Galion, OH, also survives.

In accordance with Mr. Hughes wishes, his remains were cremated, and no services are planned at this time.
