I would like to offer my sincere condolences to Mike's family and friends. Mike is a great loss to our world and I think of him often. He and I served together in the 82nd Airborne Division and deployed to Afghanistan. I will never forget his friendship, selfless services and the ultimate sacrifice he made. May he rest in peace.

To the Donahue Family: It is Memorial Day Weekend 2015, and I want you to know that in Mass today our priest mentioned the 44 military personnel who have been killed since last Memorial Day. Major Donahue's name was on the list and I drew his name from a basket filled with the names of all those killed this past year. I just wanted you to know that he along with the others who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom are in our family prayers along with their families. We are so blessed in this country to have men and women like Major Donahue who have fought for our freedom. I also want to thank you, his family, for all that you've done to support our country as well. Major Donahue will remain in our prayers today, tomorrow, and for the days to come.

To the family and friends of MAJ Michael Donahue I send my heartfelt condolences for your loss.

Mike was my roommate in Kabul and my friend. I will always remember his warm smile and the good times we had...and the day he never came home from a trip.

I am finishing my tour shortly and I am away from Kabul now, so I find myself reflecting more on the good and bad parts of my tour. Mike leads my list of good parts. He was such an inspirational person who tried every day to make Afghanistan a better and safer place.

RIP Mike.

Dear Donahue family,

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Michael will never be forgotten.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed.

But I salute you; allow me the honor to salute you with permission let me say. Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part. I salute you.
For those missing in action;for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.

I salute you, allow me the honor to salute you with permission let me say even though I hold no rank know that from my heart my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.

I salute you.

I Salute You.

To both DONAHUE FAMILIES wife and children and parents and sister.I was just told of Michaels passing and I can't tell you how sorry my family and myself feel. I remember the cute little boy and his sister who played in my back yard he had a smile for everyone. I read about what a fine young man he turned into and I am sure you were very proud of MICHAEL. My son Tom said the last time he saw Michael he still had that great smile. My family is very proud to have known Michael even as a little boy he was special. Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of you .God will keep him close to all of you.
