Michael Jason Jefferson
February 14, 1973 – December 23, 2025
Michael Jason Jefferson was born on Valentine's Day in 1973, a fitting beginning for someone so wanted and loved. He was welcomed into the world by his parents, Garry Gene Jefferson and Minnie LaPearl Dean Jefferson, and his big sister, Lori Lynn. Known as "Jason" in his early years, he was a joyful, red-headed little boy who adored being carried around by his sister.
As an Air Force brat, Jason experienced life in Germany and Montana before the family settled in Bossier City, Louisiana. He attended local schools and later studied at Louisiana Tech University.
In his twenties, Michael briefly lived in Tampa, Florida, but spent most of his life in Bossier City. He had recently moved to Vivian. A successful insurance salesman, Michael built lasting relationships and earned the respect of many through his chosen profession.
Michael was known for his wide circle of friends, including his longtime friend and mentor, Dr. Rodney Shackelford. He appreciated the finer things in life-especially a good cigar and a tumbler of whiskey shared in good company. Just as Mike was known for his wit and scathing sarcasm, he was also known for his kindness, generosity and warmth. Mike freely gave his time and expertise to his friends in the Severed Survivor Amputee Group.
He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his sister, Lori Miklos (Quinten) and her family of
Rapid City, SD; brother, Keith Jefferson (Jill) and his family of
Center, TX; sisters Rachel Laughlin of
Clearlake, WA; and Trinity Hurst of
Keithville, LA; as well as many cousins and family members. Michael also leaves behind his beloved dogs, Brandy and Stormy, who brought him great joy.
Per Michael's wishes no services will be held.
