Michael "Mike" Jenkins

Michael "Mike" Jenkins, age 77, of Cerulean passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, March 9, 2026, at his home in Christian County of natural causes. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Humphries officiating and burial to follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, March 12, 2026, from 11:00 AM until the service hour at 1:00 PM. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements.

Mike was born in Christian County, KY, on December 21, 1948, to the late parents of Elmo Jackson James and Mary Cornela Gee James and then was adopted as the son of the late James Lee Jenkins and Edna Mildred Cunningham Jenkins. He had previously worked for 12 years for Model Milk Company and retired after 25 years from Pepsi-Cola. After his retirement he was Co-Owner for 13 years of Lic's here in Hopkinsville and went on to transporting vehicles for Toyota of Hopkinsville. He had attended Second Baptist Church and was a member of the Bass Club. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Billy James and David James; and his sisters, Paulette James Francis, Brenda James Taylor, Glenda James Maston, and Terri James Francis.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Pat Jenkins of Cerulean, KY; his sons, Donnie (Tracy) Oliver of Gracey, KY, Michael Jenkins of Pembroke, KY; his daughters, Tina (Jon) Smith of Lexington, KY, Wendy Thompson of Henderson, KY; his sister, Judi (Richard) DeBow of Hopkinsville, KY; his seven grandchildren Drake Oliver, Bryce Moore, Alexis Thompson, Jordan Jenkins, Cody Smith, Dani Smith, and Dalton Smith; and his five great grandchildren, Tate Oliver, Maverick Moore, Brynleigh Shank, Rilyn Slayers, and Khloe Slayers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society or Pennyroyal Hospice.
