Mr. Michael J. Jordan, of Waltham, died at home on Thursday, July 13, 2023. He was 62.

Michael was born in Brighton on October 18, 1960, a son of John “Jack” and Mary (Keating) Jordan, of Mashpee. A graduate of Watertown High School with the class of 1979, he continued his studies at Northeastern University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 1984. He later earned his Master’s degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

He had worked for years as the Director of Court Capital Projects for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Trial Court System until his retirement. After that he did consulting work for the Walker Hill School.

Michael was also an expert in lighting and looked forward to dazzling the neighborhood with his displays for Halloween and Christmas. He also enjoyed weekend trips to Popponesset Beach in Mashpee and at Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. He also loved spending time with his beloved canine companions, Hope and Hunter. Of all of his talents and interests nothing brought him more joy than his children. He never missed a hockey or soccer game, a father-daughter dance, and was always so proud of all of their accomplishments.

In addition to his parents, Jack and Mary, he leaves his wife, Gail (McDonald) Jordan; his children, Patrick M. Jordan of Chelmsford and Jacqueline M. Jordan of Wakefield; his sisters, Geralyn Miller of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Carolyn Herbert of Smithfield, Virginia and several nieces, nephews and their families.

He was also a son-in-law of the late John and Evelyn McDonald.

Family and friends will honor and remember Michael's life by gathering to visit from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 20th in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 Noon.  Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
