Michael John Jueneman, 51, of Coon Rapids, Minnesota passed away on April 19, 2024.
Mike was born on November 4, 1972, to Tom and Marilyn Jueneman in Adrian Minnesota. After Mike graduated from Worthington High School in 1991, he worked at Lakeview and McMillian Home assisting people with disabilities and playing drums in the band Dry Body. In 1997, he went back to school, starting at Worthington Community College-WCC (now Minnesota West Technical and Community College) to pursue Psychology. In his first year at WCC, Mike received a writing award that typically only went to second-year students. After graduation Mike studied technical communications at the University of Wisconsin-Stout and graduated with honors in 2002.
Mike started his career in Bettendorf Iowa. Then in May of 2004, Mike started at Graco
Manufacturing in Rogers Minnesota as a Technical Writer. In 2020 Mike combined his writing skills with his love of drumming and started writing and editing articles for Minnesota Drummer.
In 1997, Mike met Emily at college in Worthington. They bonded over their mutual love of the band Morphine and the film director, David Lynch. They got married in 2023 on the 25th anniversary of their committed partnership.
Music was a very important part of Mike's life. He had a knack for making the perfect playlists for any occasion. In 2007, Mike joined The Heedonists, a Guided by Voices tribute band that gathered annually for the biggest gathering of GBV fans in Dayton Ohio. In 2016, Mike joined the Minneapolis-based band, Capital Sons. With Capital Sons, he performed over 60 shows, recorded three albums, and designed the album artwork for two of those albums.
With a rhythm in his heart and a beat that resonated through the lives of all he touched, Mike was the quintessential friend to everyone. His drumsticks were wands that turned air into melody, and his talent was as undeniable as his modesty. To know Mike was to love him. He brought laughter as effortlessly as he did the music. Mike's humor was as infectious as his beats. He was quick-witted, sharp, and full of life. His passion for music was paralleled only by his love for movies and television, mediums through which he explored and shared the vast expanse of his interests. Above all, Mike's love story with his wife, Emily, was one for the ages - deep, true, and harmonious. His friends and family were the core of his life, the audience he cherished most, and the legacy he leaves behind in every note that lingers in the air. In every aspect, Mike was a masterpiece of a person - unique, unforgettable, and irreplaceable.
Mike was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Ed and Georgine Jueneman; maternal grandparents, Ray and Opal Turner; uncles, Jim Finken, Joe Finken, and Jeff Jueneman; aunt, Terry Parvon; close friends, Greg Gengler and Adam Caviness; and 3 very loved feline fur babies, Little Bean, Pixie Lou, and Alex Magoo. Mike is survived by his wife, Emily Robinson; parents, Tom and Marilyn Jueneman; brother, Jason Jueneman; 3 nieces and nephews Naomi Ring, Jake Jueneman, and Tate Jueneman; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held at Washburn-McReavy in Coon Rapids on April 25, 2024, from 4 pm to 7 pm. Eulogies and memories will be shared from 5 pm to 6 pm. A celebration of life ceremony will be held in Worthington, Minnesota on April 26th from 4 pm to 7 pm at the Elks Lodge.
