Michael “Mike” Kenneth Curtis, 67, of Chesterfield, South Carolina passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, in his home with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from the Chapel of Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home with Rev. Jamie Gulledge and Brent Taylor officiating. The burial will follow the service in the Chesterfield Cemetery officiated by Pastor Max White. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. prior to the service.
Born on November 1, 1956, in Chesterfield, South Carolina, Mike was the son of the late Julian Perry Curtis and Shelby Jean Chewning Curtis. His professional journey was a testament to dedication, as he committed himself first to Crown Bottling and later to Schaeffler/INA Bearing, where he held the esteemed position of team lead until his well-deserved retirement. Beyond the realms of work, Mike found joy in the company of his family and friends. He also loved spending time tinkering in his shop, crafting different odds and ends. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Leigh Curtis and his “fur baby”, Cracker.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Cynthia “Cindy” Hancock Curtis of Chesterfield, South Carolina; Brother, Todd Curtis of Chesterfield; Sisters, Wanda Miles (Charles Ray) of Mount Croghan, South Carolina, Pam King (Randy), Theatus Freeman, and Jackie Curtis (Terry Wayne Brigman) all of Chesterfield, South Carolina; Sister-in-laws, Vicky Gulledge (Donnie) and Tammy Hancock both of Mount Croghan, South Carolina; Uncle, Bill Curtis of Chesterfield, South Carolina; Aunt, Carolyn Curtis of Ruby, South Carolina; also numerous nieces and nephews.
