Michael W. Kaneski

KANESKI, Michael W. September 20, 2025. Age 74. Beloved husband of A. Kathy Kaneski (nee: Patrico) for 53 cherished years. Loving father of Michael J. Kaneski and Melissa Viviano (Rich). Proud and loving Papa of Angelina, Kailey, and Layla Viviano. Dear son of Leona and the late Norbert Kaneski and brother of Ken Kaneski (Claire) and Claudia Kustarz (Chester). Michael worked as an elevator mechanic for 47 years and truly loved his job; he was a proud longtime member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors, Local 36 in Detroit. Michael enjoyed golfing, watching his granddaughters play softball and was a loyal fan of the Detroit Lions. More than anything else in his life, Michael loved his family and being with them whenever possible. He was kind, thoughtful, and deeply loved by his family and friends. A memorial Mass will be held at 11am on Friday, October 17th at St. Malachy Catholic Church, 14115 14 Mile Rd. (E. of Schoenherr), Sterling Heights. The family will receive guests in the church from 10:30am until the time of Mass. Memorial contributions to the American Lung Association are appreciated.
