Michael Kempa Obituary
Loving husband of Christine for 42 years. Dear father of Matthew Kempa (Kristin - partner), Melissa Parr (Michael), and Adam Kempa (Shannon - partner).
Papa to Penny and Lena.
Brother of Paul Kempa (Claudia) and Twin Brother to Mark Kempa (Sandra).
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents and three siblings.
Miracle Baby, Blue Baby, youngest baby to survive open-heart surgery at Henry Ford Hospital in 1956.
Despite all the challenges and extensive heart procedures over his God-blessed years, Mike lived a full and fun life, actively engaging in all family happenings.
He had a zest for life, including Detroit sports, being a Lions fan and season-ticket holder for decades. Also spending time motorcycling and tooling around this retirement property on the riding mower after a long career in sheet metal manufacturing.
His passionate heart grew exponentially with the arrival of his two granddaughters, when he became Papa in addition to being a devoted father. Weekly visits with Penny and Lena were full of love, laughter, and adventure.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 3-8PM at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Directors, 2600 Crooks Rd., Troy, MI 48084. Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday at 11AM at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Directors.
