Michael Allen Kimack Sr.

Michael Allen Kimack Sr, 81, passed away Sunday, March 17th, 2024 at South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, NY.   Michael was born May 16th, 1942, in Passaic, New Jersey to John Kimack and Marie Kimack (nee Ducar). 

Michael graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1965, moved to Wilmington, VT in 1968, and became active in local and state politics.   He served as a Vermont State Representative from 1978-1984, then on the Vermont State Board of Education for several years.   Following his time in politics, he became involved with construction & development at the Haystack Ski Area in Wilmington, VT, and other projects in the nearby area.  In the early 1990s he left Vermont and moved to New York, eventually residing on Long Island.  After graduating from Hofstra Law School in 1995, Michael worked briefly as an attorney, but eventually returned to his passion for construction & development by working as a permit expediter in the Riverhead, NY area.

Michael was a very talented carpenter, enjoyed time with his friends and family, and traveled regularly to Cuba.

Michael is survived by his wife, Lisandra Perez Gonzalez; brother John Kimack; son Michael Kimack Jr. and his wife Aida; daughter Jacquelyn Parker and her husband Keith; grandchildren Michael Kimack III, Julia Kimack, and Ethan Kimack; nephews David Kimack and Michael Kimack; niece Sandra Kimack.   Michael was preceded in death by his parents John and Marie Kimack.

A memorial service will be held at the Tuthill-Mangano Funeral Home at 406 E. Main Street, Riverhead, NY on Saturday March 30th at 11AM.  Interment of cremains will be at the George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ on Monday April 1st at 1030AM.
