Michael Kindya, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025, in Ridge, New York. He was born on February 17, 1940, in New York, and lived a life characterized by his dedication to family and his profession as a marine engineer for MEBA in Dania, Florida.
Michael's educational journey culminated in his graduation from high school, laying the foundation for a successful career in marine engineering. His work was not only a means of livelihood but also a source of pride, and he took great satisfaction in the contributions he made to the industry throughout his career.
A devoted family man, Michael is survived by his beloved spouse, Janet Kindya. He was the proud father of son Stephen Kindya and his wife Jeannette, and daughter Cheryl Armstrong. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Joshua, Corinne, Noah, Amanda, and Cassandra. Additionally, he held a special place in his heart for his great-grandchild, Kaylee. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary Kindya, whose love and guidance shaped him throughout his life.
Visitation to honor Michael’s memory will be held at the Mangano Family Funeral Home of Middle Island, located at 640 Middle Country Rd, Middle Island, NY 11953, on October 7, 2025. The first visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, followed by an evening session from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM.
Michael Kindya will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for the warmth and love he shared with his family. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
