Michael G. Knapp

Michael "Mike" Garry Knapp, age 48, our loving, dedicated, humorous, and sociable love-of-our life, son, brother, uncle, and dear friend passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024.

Mike was born in Flint on June 11, 1975, to parents Garry and Bonnie. Mike was raised alongside his three sisters and attended Millington schools. He was currently working as a heavy equipment operator with DiPonio Contracting. Mike was passionate about and loved time spent mud-bogging and snowmobiling. He loved to work in his garage on anything with an engine. He was especially interested in working on and restoring square-body Chevy trucks. Further, one could often find Mike spending time with his friends. Above all, Mike loved his family. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Mike is survived by the love of his life, Leslie Handley; father, Garry Knapp; mother, Bonnie Knapp; sisters: Tammy (John) Rodanhisler, Nancy (Stan) Shamel, and Monica (Barry) Bremer; children, Ariel Handley and Ashton Handley; nephews, Johnny and Trevor; nieces, Alexis, Makayla, and Chloe; dear friends, Scott, Kenny, Justin "J-Dub"; as well as extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, uncles, aunts, and a niece.

Mike's family will welcome visitors to Hanlin Funeral Home - Millington on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 2-7 p.m. Funeral services for Mike will be at the Millington Church of God (4855 Barnes Rd, Millington, MI 48746) on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 1 p.m.; additional visitation at church beginning at 12 p.m. and lasting until the time of service.
