Michael Kropp

Michael J. Kropp, 70, of Smithboro, NY passed away on Thursday January 5, 2024. He was born in Endicott, NY on June 10, 1953, the son of the late Richard Kropp and Joyce (Livingston) Kropp. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his niece, Katherine Whittemore; and his best buddy, Miloh.
Mike is survived by his three sisters: Marcia Kropp and Aaron Gowan, Cynthia and Paul Bennett, Stacie Kropp and Vanessa Loucks; his nieces and nephews: Ben Whittemore, Colleen Bennett, Kelsey and Austin Ingerick; grand-niece and nephews: Will, Colton and Quinn Whittemore, Owen and Annie Ingerick; and his Sherwood Racing Family and Home Central Family.
Mike was a jokester and a lover of all animals, snakes excluded. He was a gifted mechanic, a true family man, a
racing enthusiast and avid New York Giants fan. The TV may be turned off mid-game out of frustration, but he
always tuned back in for the next one with high hopes of a Big Blue win. Wednesday and Saturday nights were
meant for racing with his Sherwood racing family, tinkering on the cars he helped build. Sundays in the summer were NASCAR central in front of the TV in his lounge chair, possibly watching or maybe just napping. He loved family traditions and kept things light hearted with his never ending wacky jokes and gifts. Gruff on the outside, but tender within, he will be missed by many.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Richards Funeral Home, Rte. 17c West, Owego, NY on Friday January 12, 2024, from 1:00-3:00pm. A Memorial Service will begin at 3:00pm with Rev. Charles Smith, Pastor of the Tioga Center Methodist Church, offering kind words.
