Michael Kully Obituary
Memorial services and acelebration of Mike's life will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at All Faiths Funeral Home. Burial of ashes will follow in Grand Island City Cemetery.
A gathering of friends and family will begin an hour prior the service at the funeral home.
Mike was born April 16, 1940, in Grand Island, the son of Stanley and Louise (Greenberger) Kully. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High, Class of 1958, before attending the University of Nebrska in Lincoln and then Barnes School of Commerce in Denver.
Mike served in the Air National Guard, having been activated to the U.S. Air Force in 1962. He received his Honorable Discharge from the Air National Guard in 1968.
On July 30, 1976, Mike married Susie L. Jacobson. They made their home in Grand Island where they raised their three sons, Aaron, Adam and Alan. He was owner of Greenberger's Clothing, from which he retired and sold in 1999.
Following his retirement, Mike was a longtime employee of Jack Rabbit Run Golf Course and Play It Again Sports. In addition to golf, he enjoyed fishing. Mike enjoyed watching his boys and later his grandchildren at their sporting events. Mike was an avid Husker fan and enjoyed yelling at the Huskers on football Saturdays. He was a member of the Platt Deutsche, where he enjoyed playing cards every week.
Those who cherish Mike's memory include his wife, Susie; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Aaron Kully of Grand Island, Adam and Carinn Kully of Grand Island, and their children, Hudson and Hayden, and Alan and Heather Kully of Lincoln, and their son, Oliver.
He is also survived by a sister, Sandra Freed of Omaha; a niece, Stacy Freed, and nephew, Geoff (June) Freed; sisters-in-law, Louise Williams and Peggy (Ray) Cottier; a brother-in-law, Dennis (Joy) Jacobson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Louise Kully; and brothers-in-law, Ken Freed and Bob Williams.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.

I worked at Big Boo cafe many years ago and got to know a lot of people who also worked downtown. Mike was a lot of fun -- ornery and nice. Susie was a perfect fit for him and they were blessed with wonderful sons. Mike will be missed by so many. RIP

Sorry to hear of Mike's Passing. Bought a lot of Levi's from Greenbergers, and used the Tux shop numerous times. Tailor service was also great. Nice guy, with a great sense of humor. We need a merchant like Mike in Downtown. My best to the family.
