Mike, as your sister in law for many years, I have so many memories of you and the crazy things you did. Every moment with you turned into an adventure!! Some of my most memorable are when we had the 3-4 hour layover in DC while on our way to Florida by Amtrak. You took us on a running tour (literally) of the Capital and other historic sites- via the basement and back doors. OMG! I was waiting for the Secret Service to take us into custody. I used to tease you mercilessly because you carried a gun but couldn't drive a stick shift! Ànd let's not forget the South Connellsville Firemen's Club....When you, EO and Norm went there together, I'm surprised you weren't all arrested. All the Christmas celebrations with the Connellsville/ Pittsburgh gang, the FOP picnics at Kennywood, watching Steeler football and all the yelling at the refs, (who obviously couldn't hear us, but we didn't care) the summer picnics at the pavilion, how you threw Kim in the pool during your wedding reception....So. Many. Memories. I wish I had known you were still in the area. I would have loved to have seen you. I did try to look you up a few times, but was unsuccessful. I'm sure you are up in heaven drinking , playing cards and arguing with EO and Norm. I won't say rest easy- that's just not your style. So, rock on, my friend... Let the party continue! We got it from here. Shelley , Dave, Stephanie and Andy

Mollie, Sophie and the rest of Mike´s family and friends, I offer my sympathy and prayers to get you through these difficult days. I was shocked to hear of Mike´s passing. I worked with "Kuns" at Zone Five for many years, spent lots of time with him outside of work and even spent a few weekends heading to NASCAR races with him. Michael was a great guy and he made our crazy days and nights on patrol much easier with his jokes and stories.
I am sorry that we lost touch so many years ago.. After running into your daughter recently, I hoped we would have reconnected along with the old crew from -#5, but it wasn´t meant to be.
Go with God Mike and save some stories for when we meet again, brother...maybe at another car race. Until then, entertain the angels. I know God has a chalkboard and you should get back to drawing those amazing and hysterical cartoons of zone 5!

I was privileged to work with my fellow Navy veteran Mike at Zone 5 Pittsburgh Police. Mike had a very good heart, and I can HONESTLY say I have NEVER seen him mistreat anyone or speak unkindly to anyone.
My sincere condolences Mollie and Sophie and Mary Beth and Kim. Mike was one of the funniest guys I've ever known, as his humor proved beneficial many times during the stressful chaos our career presented so often.
I can speak from experience, that when a guy has children and goes through a divorce, those fractured relationships leave very deep and painful wounds that very few men will share with anyone. And I know Mike was no exception.
Being a Veteran of the Navy, Washington D.C. Police and Pittsburgh Police, shows that Mike had a servant's heart, willing to do much to serve his country and fellow man.
I have many fond memories of Mike, including going to Niagra Falls, My first Nascar Race with him and Steelers games in Cincinnati and many more. And our children went to school together in Brookline.
May Mike rest in Peace, and may Perpetual Light shine upon him.
He is missed.

Working with Mike at Zone 5 was always hilarious. His excellent artwork and drawing of the characters we worked with out at Zone 5 at the time were the comic relief we all appreciated including Cmdr Woodward. Mike was a nice person and a genuinely nice guy. He will be missed. God bless him and his family during this difficult time. God speed, Mike! Fair winds and following seas my fellow Navy comrade. See you on the other side someday, my friend...
