Peter Kunsa Obituary

MERIDEN- Peter J. Kunsa, 71, son of the late Theodore and Mary Kunsa, passed away at home on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, after an eight year battle with cancer.

He is survived by his wife Nancy of 45 years, daughters Amy McManus and Laura Otis; grandchildren, Erin and Christopher McManus; brother, Ted (Irene); and sister, Kathy Nitkowski. He was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Perry; and two brothers-in-law, Dan Nitkowski and Larry Perry. Pete had a successful career in manufacturing beginning at Waterbury Farrell followed by Pressmation, Marlin Firearms and Goldenrod Corp. At all facilities he accomplished many achievements and many friendships were made. Golf was Pete's number one sport and he produced many winnings including the Oldsmobile Scramble City Senior Championship, multiple other tournaments and a few hole-in-one rounds. Over many years, he and his special golf buddies had great golf trips, laughs and bragging rights.

Thanks go out to our Midstate Oncology Family including Dr. Tansino and Dr. Kratzer and their wonderful staff. He missed all "His Girls" when he was transferred to the Franciscan Hospice care.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Friday, Feb. 14, at 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Cemetery Mausoleum, 250 Gypsy Lane, Meriden. Friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden on Wednesday, Feb.12, from 4 to 8 p.m. Remember Pete with a random act of kindness, donate a pint of your blood or if you choose, make a donation in his memory to Midstate Oncology, 455 Lewis Ave., Ste 102, Meriden, CT 06451 or Franciscan Hospice Care, 267 Finch Avenue, Meriden, CT 06451.
