Michael A. LaBell-Eschelbach, born on July 8th, 1967, died peacefully in his sleep on July 17th, 2025. Michael is the son of Mary Janone Compano. He graduated from Dover High School and moved to Monmouth County to reside with his husband, Paul Eschelbach. Michael loved children and animals. He helped to raise Elijah Sierra and Cam'Ron Smith. He worked for the SPCA in Eatontown, where he came into contact with a number of animals which he loved. He adopted several rescue animals; dogs, cats, a parrot and a McCaw. Michael was well known for his generosity, wisdom, common sense and kindness. He is survived by his husband, Paul Eschelbach. They were together for over 33 years. He is also survived by his sister, Marie Gagne and brother, Byron James LaBell. He is also survived by several nieces and a nephew and many great nieces and grand-nephews. "Mikey" loved gardening and tending to his many rosebushes. He enjoyed watching the multitude of birds he invited to his house with his several bird feeders. We will always love and miss him greatly.
