Kelly Cremation & Funeral Care - WorcesterIt is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Kenneth LaDeau, who passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, at the age of 68 after a two-year battle with brain cancer. Michael was a cherished family member, friend, and community member, remembered for his kindness, warmth, and endearing sense of humor.
Michael dedicated his professional life to law enforcement, serving as a Police Officer at the Fernald school, with the Templeton Police Department for 36 years, and as a Campus Police Officer for MWCC, making a lasting impact on colleagues and the community.
Outside of work, Michael was a member of the Stiles Brook Lodge. He touched many lives, brought joy to those around him, and was always a kind-hearted person. Whether he was in the woods hunting with his lifelong friends or simply with his beloved dogs, he felt a deep joy outdoors. He always saw the good in people.
Michael was predeceased by his parents, Duane and Rachel (Mailloux) LaDeau. He is survived by his son, Zackary LaDeau, and his partner, Catherine, as well as his daughter, Sabrina Campos, her husband, Mason, and his granddaughter, Harper, who was his pride and joy, affectionally known as Pepe. He is also survived by two sisters, Rollande Glynn and her husband, Arthur, niece, Courtney Abney (Cody); and Darlene Peckham, her husband, Frank; nieces, Stacey Sweeney (Davide) and Amanda Allen; and a nephew, Frank Peckham (Michelle). Additionally, he leaves behind seven great nieces and nephews: Samuel, Tucker, Meadow, Jeremy, Avery, Wyatt, and Violet, who will forever treasure his memories. Though we grieve the loss, we find comfort in the countless moments and many shared laughs through Michael’s goofy antics.
A Celebration of Life honoring Michael will be on June 28, 2026, from 12-4 at the Otter River Sportsman’s Club. Donations may be made to the Templeton Police Association in Michael’s honor. Checks can be mailed to Templeton Police, 33 South Road, Templeton, MA 01468
Michael will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
