Michael Dewayne Lafitte

Michael Dewayne Lafitte was born on March 9, 1977, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Connie Irvin and Darrell Lafitte Sr. He entered into death on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at his home in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Michael is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Vol Lafitte Jr. and Lonnie Irvin; grandfather-in-law, Lonnie Thacker Sr.; grandmother-in-law, Alma Thacker; brother-in-law and his best friend, Michael Harper; and his sister-in-law, Melissa Lafitte.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 10 years, Chelsea Lafitte; children, Christopher, Guage, and Emalee Lafitte; grandchildren, Charlie and Indy Lafitte; father, Darrell Lafitte Sr (Joann); mother, Connie Lafitte (Paul); grandmothers, Carolyn Irvin and Billie Lafitte; father-in-law, Lonnie Thacker Jr.; mother-in-law, Kim Bobowski (David); brothers, Darrell Lafitte Jr. (Erin), Tommy Lafitte Sr. (Tiffany), and Jeremy Lafitte (Jade); sister, Tonya Barnett (Chase); and an endless list of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Michael worked for Wicker Construction Inc as a heavy equipment operator. He was an avid fisherman but above all he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, grandson, son, and brother.

There was never a dull moment when Michael was around. He was well known for his playful spirit and always trying to make people laugh. He was truly the life of the party and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
