MICHAEL LANGSTON Obituary
In Loving Memory of Michael Louis Langston
April 27, 1955 – September 3, 2025
Michael Louis Langston, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on April 27, 1955, in Toledo, Ohio, Michael was the cherished son of Margaret and Clarence Langston, both of whom preceded him in death.
Michael grew up in a close-knit neighborhood in Toledo, just down the street from his grandparents, where he often visited for lunch and laughter. As a child, he was a protective older brother with a mischievous streak, always stirring the pot between siblings with a twinkle in his eye.
A graduate of Bowsher High School, Michael met the love of his life, Jennifer Langston, during those formative years. They married on November 26, 1977, and built a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. Together, they danced through life-literally-gracing every dance floor they could find with joy and rhythm.
Michael was a man of many talents and passions. He was an avid outdoorsman who found peace in nature through fishing, hunting, and camping. His dream was to become a Park Ranger, a reflection of his deep love for the natural world. He cultivated a thriving vegetable garden, growing tomatoes, cucumbers, okra, and corn, often working side-by-side with Jennifer, who tended to her flowers nearby.
A gifted cook, Michael was known for his mouthwatering potato salad and hearty homemade soups. Even in his nursing home, he continued to cook, sharing his love through food. His craftsmanship extended beyond the kitchen-he built a custom cooking cabinet for Jennifer, a testament to his devotion and skill.
Michael's career path was as dynamic as his personality. He began in vacuum sales, a job that brought his family to the Cleveland area and later became a successful car salesman. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to create his own carpet cleaning business, 4-C-ZON Carpet Care. With his animated storytelling and magnetic public speaking skills, Michael could captivate any room.
Music was the soundtrack of Michael's life. He was a self-taught guitar player who adored country music, especially Garth Brooks and Reba McEntire. Whether strumming his guitar or dancing with Jennifer, music brought him immense joy.
Michael was a proud supporter of the Democratic Party and cherished family traditions like game nights, where he played Spades and Euchre with enthusiasm and competitive spirit. A former Boy Scout, he carried those values of community and service throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Linda Mayer, and his beloved wife Jennifer. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be carried on by his daughters Michelle (Michael) Scheidly and Deanna (Bob) Suhay; his grandchildren Evelyn, Samuel, Bobby, and Andrea; his sister Debbie (Terry) Allgire; nieces Nicole and Amanda; nephew Evan; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
Michael's vibrant spirit, generous heart, and unforgettable stories will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
