Michael Lepore Obituary

Michael E. Lepore Jr., lovingly known as "Uncle Mike," of Butler, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, at the age of 92.
Born March 10, 1933, at Butler Memorial Hospital, Michael was the son of Michael E. Lepore Sr. and Josephine Sequete Lepore. He spent most of his life in Butler, a community he proudly called home.
Michael was a member of Butler High School, Class of 1950. He continued his education at Grove City College and earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a minor in English in 1956. During his college years, he was active in the Newman Club and the Commerce Club and he served as secretary-treasurer of the Omicron Xi social fraternity.
After graduating, Michael enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Following his military service, he worked at Armco for over 35 years, retiring in 1995.
A devout Catholic and a member of All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, Michael remained steadfast in his faith throughout his life. He was part of St. Paul choir for more than 25 years and he had the honor of performing at the Vatican during a trip by the choir to Italy.
Michael was also an avid painter who devoted much of his retirement to creating portraits of landscapes, people and cherished subjects. Many of his paintings are proudly displayed in the homes of his family, friends and community.
He was passionate about gardening, making taralli cookies (carrying on his mother's tradition), reading and - most importantly - savoring homemade Italian meals. Anyone who knew him knew he was deeply proud of his Italian culture and heritage.
Known as the very best "Grandpa," Michael was adored by his grandchildren, who cherished him dearly, and he was influential in their lives.
Michael was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Bruno Lepore, whom he married July 22, 1968; his children, Michael Lepore and his wife, Marla, of Nashville, Tenn., and Gabrielle Adachi and her husband, Michael, of Mars; four grandchildren, Audrey, Shane, Seth and Sophia; two stepgrandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Judy Lohmuller, of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christina Jo Lepore; his brother, Angelo Lepore; and three sisters, Antoinette Rhodaberger, Allene Curry and Elizabeth "Betty" Ramelli.
Michael will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to God, his devotion to his family, and the quiet strength, wisdom and humor he shared with all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family and close friends.
LEPORE - Friends and family of Michael E. Lepore Jr., who died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, at MARTIN FUNERAL HOME SOUTH SIDE, 429 Center Ave., Butler.
