Born on April 14, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois, Michael was the beloved son of Allen and Fritzie Lewin.
Michael is survived by his mother, Fritzie; his sisters, Cindy (Paul) Sullivan, Linda (John) Santucci, Michele (Ted) Able, and Penny Lewin; his brother, Steven Lewin; and his cherished nieces and nephews, Michael and Kaitlin Sullivan, Lindsey (Michael) Reeves, and Patrick Able.
Michael was a devoted Chicago sports fan who cheered faithfully for the Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks. Win or lose, he stood by his teams with unwavering loyalty and heart.
He found his greatest joy in cooking and grilling, generously sharing his talents with family, friends, neighbors, and his extended family at the Wood Dale American Legion. For Michael, food was more than a meal-it was his way of bringing people together and expressing his extraordinary love.
He'll be remembered for his warmth, generosity, and the joy he brought to those he loved.
A memorial will be held at Geils Funeral Home, 180 South York Road, Bensenville, IL 60106 on Sunday, March 15, 2026 from 1:00-4:00PM. Please call Geils Funeral Home at (630) 766-3232 with any questions.
