Michael Alan Long was born September 28, 1946 to Wayne and Mary Long in Mobile, Alabama. He went home to our Lord on January 9, 2026 in Robertsdale, Alabama. Mike was 79 years of age.
Mike grew up in Mobile, and had very fond memories of visiting his grandparents and family through out Alabama. Over the years he lived in North Florida, Tennessee, and finally in Southwest Florida, but he always called Bama home. He finally retired to Robertsdale, AL in 2023.
In Nashville Mike worked for many years in the building and real estate field. While living in Fort Myers, Mike and his wife Betty built Tri County Appraisal. Mike was especially proud when he could help families achieve their goal of home ownership.
As much as he loved his work, Mikes greatest joy was the his family. Mike and Betty had 4 children between them, five grandchildren, and this spring their first great granddaughter. He loved being a father but his favorite title was Pawpaw.
Mike is survived by his sons Scott (Nancy) Long, Eric (Jennifer) Long, Betty's son Rick (Cheryl) Conrad, his grandchildren David (Cheyenne) Long, Molly (Matt) Long, Sebastian Long, Robert Long, Brody Long, his sister Miriam Elliott, his niece Shellie (Randy) Rhymers, and great nephew Rider Watts.
Mike was preceded in death by his wife Betty Long, his parents Wayne and Mary (Burton) Long, his grandparents Henry and Coral (Walters) Long, Charles and Willie Mae (Young) Burton, and Betty's daughter Lisa Clancy.
A graveside service will be held on February 7, 2026 at Mobile Memorial Gardens. The procession to the graveside will start at 10 am. Lunch will follow the service at The Little Bohemian Hall, 16174 4th Avenue, Silverhill, AL 36576.
