Michael A Lowther, 59, of Mogadore, passed away on December 30, 2024. Michael was born on January 21, 1965 in Akron, OH to Sam and Shelby Lowther. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1983. Michael has always worked in the food business, and when he found healthcare foodservice he found his passion. He worked at Canal Pointe for almost 20 years. Michael earned his Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional (CDM, CFPP) and wouldn't let anyone forget it. His staff, coworkers, and residents always found joy when he walked in the room. Not just at work, everyone found joy being with Michael. He was a scoutmaster and band chaperone, always making campouts and band trips so fun! He would do anything and everything for all his kids and friends no matter what. Michael was always willing to lend a helping hand and encourage everyone to follow their dreams. His family would poke fun at him for always looking like a homeless man, but he did not care. He was always comfortable and said "I will do what I want, when I want, and how I want it." Everyone that knew MIchael loved all of his very "poetic" sayings. In his words "I'm Done!"

He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Lowther; and children Brittany and Ryan.

Michael is survived by his mother Shelby Lowther; children Bryant Lowther, Shane Lowther, Dominique (Kevin) Colon, and Slade Lowther; siblings Jody (Bobbi) Lowther, Kathy (Al) Vanderhoff, and David (Jenny) Lowther; Grand "fur" babies-- Jessie and Wilma; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews and many many friends.

Visitation will be from 9:30am to 12:00pm, Saturday, January 11th, at Newcomer Funeral Home (131 N. Canton Rd., Akron) where services will be held at 12:00pm with Rev. Emily Hill officiating.

Interment will be held at East Akron Cemetery.
