Michael Rocco Lucarelli April 10, 1947 – June 23, 2025

Michael Rocco Lucarelli, a devoted husband, proud father and grandfather, loyal friend, and proud veteran, passed away peacefully at home on June 23, 2025, at the age of 78. Born in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn on April 10,1947, Michael lived a life surrounded by family- a life that left a lasting mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Michael was a graduate of Xaverian High School and went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970. After his service, he built a long and steady career at AT&T, where he was known not only for his work ethic but for his reliability and integrity.

In 1972, Michael married the love of his life, Denise, beginning a 52-year partnership built on deep love, laughter, and unwavering commitment. Together, they raised three children - Lisa and her husband Rick, Chris and his wife Calli, and the late Michael. They built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Nothing made him prouder than watching his family grow, and his grandchildren - Tyler, Andrew, and Riley brought him boundless joy.

Michael was a man that found joy in his passions. He was an avid reader, train collector, enjoyed his gun club outings with his brother Rocky, and a regular at Atlantic City where he and Denise made countless memories and donations. He found great pleasure in his yard - which was, indisputably, the best lawn in town - and took pride in keeping it flawless. It wasn't just grass; it was a symbol of his dedication, attention to detail, and care.

He will be remembered as a hardworking, deeply loyal man who valued family above all else. He believed in showing up, not just in good times, but when it mattered most - a rare and steady presence.

He is predeceased by his son Michael, his brother John, and his parents, Modesto and Lena. Michael is survived by his loving wife Denise; his children Lisa and Chris, son-in-law Rick, and daughter-in-law Calli. He was a loving grandfather to Tyler, Andrew, and Riley. He had a tight bond with his brothers, Rocky and Tommy, and their families. A big part of his family were his cousins Rita and John. He cherished spending time with his family and friends.

A visitation will be held at Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center St, Freehold, NJ on Wednesday June 25, 2025, from 4-8pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 26,2025 at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, 16 McLean St., Freehold, NJ. Interment will follow at Saint Rose of Lima Cemetery.
