Michael James Lyssy was born in San Antonio, Texas on January 12, 1954 to Edward and Florence Pollok Lyssy. He died peacefully on September 26, 2025 at the age of 71. He was preceded in death by his father Edward Lyssy, and brother Mark Lyssy. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Susan Lyssy, mother Florence Lyssy, son Bryan (Amanda) Lyssy, grandsons Jacob Lyssy and Patrick Lyssy, brother Kenneth (Chris) Lyssy, sisters Michelle (Duane) Dugie and Connie (Jay) Huckabay, nephews Jonathan (Stephanie) Lyssy, Ryan (Elizabeth) Lyssy, Brandon (Julie) Dugie and Nathan Strong, and nieces Amy (Shane) Fritz and Kristin (Jeremy) Kiolbassa. Michael was a member of the United States Air Force for 6 years after graduating from St. Gerard High School. After being honorably discharged, he worked in construction as a trim carpenter and home builder for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, welding and working cattle on the farm with his family. The funeral service will be held at St. Jerome Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Jerome Catholic Cemetery. A brief visitation will take place prior to the Rosary, which will be held at St. Jerome Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at 9:30 a.m. Dellcrest Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements. The family would like to thank everyone for their kind words during this difficult time.

Michael what can we say but that Joe and I-will miss you. Our memories go back to high school.
Thought they would end there but no they continued after you and Susan got married and became our neighbors. For 20 years we shared so many memories.New years eve were the best. You moved to China Grove and the saga continued. Wedding,grandchildren,and loss. We promise to continue to watch over and care for Susan. That´s a given.! Thanks for the memories.
