Michael “Adam” Mahan was born in San Marcos, Texas on November 1, 1977. He tragically passed away on September 3, 2025, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Adam leaves an extraordinary legacy with the love of his life, Michelle Mahan, four children whom he loved more than the breath he took, Chance Mahan (Ashton), Shaley Mahan (Darin), Hunter Grubbs (Sydney) and Justin Grubbs (Courtney) and EIGHT adored grandchildren, Luke and Jon Michael, Salix and Cyrus, Addalyn, Emery Cate, Rayah, and Everett. He also leaves behind his dad and mom, Mike and Haila Mahan, his brother Justin Mahan (Brittany), his sister Makenzi Carter (Jathan), several nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of incredible friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Laura Finley-George. Last but certainly not least, he leaves behind his faithful dogs, Kevin and Sadie, who will remain constant companions to Michelle, and his cat, Simba, who despite Adam’s insistence otherwise, was always at his side.
Those who knew Adam remember his infectious humor, unwavering honesty, and deep-boundless love. He was selfless, compassionate, and ever willing to lend a helping hand. Adam’s intelligence was matched only by his determination—he was a “Jack of all trades” who could accomplish anything he set his mind to. A visionary, he was always dreaming and working toward new projects, confident and stubborn in the best of ways, deeply giving, and above all, a dedicated family man. He was an avid guitar lover and a pretty good picker. His love for music was evident in that every situation had a relatable song. But he always sang ahead of the lyrics which drove his wife nuts! His whole life was one beautiful song and it was a privilege to be a part of his melody.
From belly aching laughs to quiet moments of wisdom, his captivating story telling and musical skills were unmatched and will echo through our hearts forever. His word was his bond and he often stated, “A man is as good as his word.” And he meant it. He had common sense, and he knew how to use it. There is not enough time nor sufficient words to adequately describe and embody who was Adam Mahan.
Adam’s life was marked by resilience. He was an overcomer in every aspect of life, facing challenges with strength and perseverance including his triumph over alcoholism, which became a testimony to his faith. Most importantly, Adam’s life was defined by his deep faith in God. His devotion was evident in every aspect of his life. Adam did not just accept what was taught, he was a Truth Seeker, seeking guidance from the Ruach HoKadesh for instruction. If he were standing here now, he would encourage you to study the Word thoroughly, seeking guidance from the Ruach, and praying against any false doctrines that have penetrated our thoughts. Though not perfect, Adam earnestly sought to live in the image of his Messiah, immersing himself in the study of God’s Word and boldly sharing it with all who would listen. He read scripture, believed it, lived by it, and spread its message. Adam has stood before God, having witnessed His glory, and now rests in peace as he awaits the promise of resurrection.
