Edis (Nelson) Miller, born on September 15, 1981, in Patuxent River, Maryland, passed away tragically on September 1, 2025, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was a vibrant light in the lives of all who knew her, leaving an incredible mark through her adventurous spirit and passionate dedication to her work and family.

Edis graduated from Leonardtown High School in 1999, where she was deeply involved in various activities including cross country, track, cheerleading, and chorus. Her love for life was evident from an early age, flourishing through her many hobbies such as swimming, surfing, skiing, fishing, camping, hiking, snowmobiling, and roller skating. After high school, eager to pursue a career in the medical field, Edis moved to Florida and attended Sante Fe College in Gainesville.

Edis achieved her certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), demonstrating her commitment to helping others during pivotal moments in their lives. She worked at the University of Florida Health (Flagler) Hospital in St. John’s County for seventeen years, where her contributions in the Cath Lab were invaluable. In 2021, Edis brought her expertise to the National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where she was respected by colleagues and patients alike.

Throughout her life, Edis opened her heart and home as a foster parent in Florida, caring for many children with love and dedication. Eventually, she adopted her proudest achievement, her daughter Arianna Miller, who was her joy and inspiration. Together, they found a new home and a supportive community in Hot Springs, Edis also became a cherished member of the Rusty Nail Line Dancers.

Edis and Arianna found a family of friends in Arkansas. It was also here that she met Justin Hall. While her life has been tragically cut short, she left this world doing the things she loves, with the man she loved. Her adventurous spirit, unwavering devotion as a mother, and loving relationships are something everyone will warmly remember about Edis.

Edis shared her life with many, including her beloved daughter, Arianna, and her father, Gary (Wanda) Nelson of Boyd, Wisconsin. She is also survived by her brothers, Russ (Kelly) Nelson of California, Maryland, and Josh Lawlor of St. Augustine, Florida. Edis leaves behind a legacy woven with love, laughter, and countless memories, cherished by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.
