Born on November 21, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York, he dedicated his life to those he cherished most, embodying a spirit of family and community.
Michael was a devoted husband to his wife, Rose Malach, with whom he shared an enduring partnership of 55 years. Together, they nurtured a family that brought him great joy. He was a proud father to Michael Gordon Malach, Jr. (Christine), Steve Malach (Angela), Joanne Murray (Kevin), and Brian Malach (Jackie), and a doting grandfather to his ten grandchildren: Cece, Makayla, Lila, Celeste, Breanna, Connor, Matthew, Kaitlyn, Paisley, and Nico. Michael was also a cherished great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren: Oakley, Olive, and Jack, whom he adored.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Abraham and Mary Malach.
A veteran of the United States Navy during the Vietnam era, Michael served his country with honor and pride. His commitment extended beyond military service, as he was also a proud fireman, dedicating over 30 years to the East Islip Fire Department in New York.
Michael had a passion for classic cars, which led him to found and be an active member of the Street Cruisers Car Club in New York. His love for cars was exemplified by his prized possessions, including a 1963 Impala and a 1937 Oldsmobile, which stood as symbols of his dedication and craftsmanship. In addition to his automotive interests, he enjoyed drawing and woodworking, showcasing his creative talents in various forms.
His personality was warm and family-oriented, with family always coming first in his life. Michael will be remembered not just for his accomplishments, but also for the love and joy he spread to everyone around him.
