Born in Brooklyn, NY to Abraham and Frieda (née Gutnick) Maliavsky, he resided in Marlboro for 30 years, before moving to Manalapan 5 years ago.
Prior to retiring in 2022, Michael was an accountant for multiple non-profit organizations for 50 years; most recently for Bergen's Promise in Hackensack, NJ.
In his spare time, he enjoyed watching sports (especially the Mets), spending time with his family and going to dinner and shows.
Michael is predeceased by his parents, Abraham and Frieda Maliavsky; and his brother-in-law, Stuart Nattboy.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Geraldine (née Saper) Maliavsky of Manalapan, NJ; his sons, Jordan Maliavsky and his wife Farrah, of Manalapan, NJ, and Adam Maliavsky and his wife Pam, of Marlboro, NJ; and his grandchildren, Addison, Dylan, Zachary and Logan.
A chapel service will be held at 9:45 am at Beth Israel Cemetery, 1098 Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge, NJ, under the direction of MOUNT SINAI MEMORIAL CHAPELS East Brunswick, NJ, where entombment will immediately follow. For directions, please view our "Events" listed below.
