Michael Thurman Maness was born November 16, 1955 to Peggy Ann Maness and Thurman Theodore Maness and departed this earthly realm August 26, 2025. Michael grew up in his hometown of Brinkley, Arkansas and was an alumni of Brinkley High School. During his time there, Michael played saxophone in the Brinkley High School Band.
After high school, Michael served in the United States Air Force from which he was honorably discharged. Michael then attended Control Data Institute in Memphis, Tennessee where he studied to become a computer programmer, the career in which he served his whole life.
Michael was well respected by his co-workers wherever he worked, but he was especially fond of his co-workers at FFE Trucking, where he served as a computer programmer for over 20 years.
After being widowed from his first marriage to Galina Klimenko, Michael met the love of his life, Wilma Gonzaga Maness and the two were married May 21st, 2015 and built a wonderful life together in Forney, Texas with their four dogs: Tony, Casper, Snickers, and Michael's favorite, Ella.
Among Michael's hobbies were building and flying remote control airplanes and helicopters. He also enjoyed riding his various motorcycles through the years. Michael's passion was programming and setting up his elaborate computer controlled Christmas display, taking months to prepare the complicated show, much to the delight of the neighbors and the neighborhood kids. In latter years, his wife Wilma assisted him in setting up the complicated display. Michael also enjoyed consulting with Wilma on her pride and joy, her gorgeous landscaping and flowers, their yard becoming a passion for the both of them.
Michael is survived by his wife Wilma Maness of Forney, Texas and his brother Mark L. Maness from Brinkley, Arkansas. He is also survived by his niece, Samantha Dyer (Matthew) and by his nephew Sean Maness (Kayla).
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Ann (Williams) Knight and by his father, Thurman Maness.
