Michael James Mansfield, known to his loved ones as Mike, passed away peacefully in hospice care at the age of 64 on July 20, 2025, at Methodist Dallas Hospital.
Mike was born in Woodbury, New Jersey, on August 18, 1960, to William David Mansfield and the late Elizabeth Ann “Zanne” Mansfield. As a boy, he was a lover of nature, a rescuer of stray animals, and had a deep connection to the outdoors—a thread that remained throughout his life. He found joy in fishing, hunting, playing guitar, and making people laugh with his sharp wit and clever charm.
After graduating from high school in Conroe, Texas, Mike attended Stephen F. Austin University. In June 1986, he married Frances “Francie” Blake, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure as they raised three children. Mike’s career with Oscar Mayer—later Kraft and then Kraft-Heinz—spanned 27 years, during which the family lived across the country, from Texas to Missouri, Kansas, Wisconsin, and Ohio.
Mike was a storyteller, a music lover, and a fiercely proud father. His quick sense of humor, deep intelligence, and creativity made a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his partner, Stacy; his father, William David Mansfield; and his loving siblings, Marty Mansfield and Dave Mansfield. Mike is also survived by his former wife of 31 years and mother of his children, Francie; and his three beloved children: Conner James Mansfield, Morgan Frances Mansfield, and Madeline Elizabeth Mansfield.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Zanne Mansfield, in 2013, and by his younger sister, Laura Mansfield, in 2007.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 16th, at 12:00 PM at Blessing Funeral Home, followed by a celebration of life at 3:00 PM at a private residence.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes gifts to the Arbor Day Foundation, in honor of Mike’s lifelong love of nature.
