Michael Jay Marlier, 59, of Frontenac, KS, passed away on January 06, 2022, at his home in Frontenac, KS. Mike was born on February 17, 1962 to Walter and Julia (Nolimal) Marlier in Pittsburg, KS. Mike attended Frontenac Schools and graduated from Pittsburg State University with a degree in Marketing. Mike worked in sales for many years before becoming an engineer for the MNA Railroad, a job he loved. On April 6, 1991 he was united in marriage to Wendy Fields in Frontenac, KS. She survives of the home.
In addition to his wife, Wendy, he is survived by two daughters, Jessica Olson and her husband Jeff of Olathe, KS, and Kelsy Marlier of Frontenac, KS; a son, Brett Marlier and his wife Rita of Olathe, KS; a sister, Leann Marlier of Frontenac, KS; and three grandchildren, Brock Olson, Bryce Olson, and Lucas Marlier. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Aaron Marlier.
Sports were a huge part of Mike's life. From high school football to recreational softball he enjoyed the competition and camaraderie. He also enjoyed watching and coaching his kids. He loved the Kansas City Chiefs, Royals and the Frontenac Raiders. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially Sunday dinners.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 1:30 PM at the Brenner Mortuary. A memorial service will follow at 2:30 PM with Pastor Donnie Talent officiating. A private family burial will take place at a later date at Frontenac City Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Aaron Marlier Memorial Scholarship Fund or the National Kidney Foundation. In consideration for others, the family asks that friends and family adhere to the covid-19 safety protocols and masking while participating in the services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS.
