In Loving Memory of Michael Donald Marvel

It is with profound sadness and immeasurable love that we announce the passing of Michael Donald Marvel, who left us far too soon. Born on May 20, 1993, at Crozer Hospital in Upland, Pennsylvania, Michael brought boundless joy, laughter, and light into the world from the very beginning.
Michael was the beloved son of Michael and Jaclyn Marvel, and Colleen and Jim Slusser. He was the cherished grandson of Colleen Revello, Michael Marvel, and Lois and Donald Shadwell, and a devoted brother to Matthew and Nicholas Marvel. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends whose lives were brighter because of him.
A proud graduate of Interboro High School, Class of 2012, Michael went on to answer a higher calling when he joined the United States Army on June 24, 2014. He completed basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia, and went on to serve honorably around the world, including assignments in Poland, South Korea, and Fort Hood, Texas. Through hard work and dedication, he rose to the rank of Sergeant and was honorably discharged on February 23, 2022. At the time of his passing, Michael was pursuing his education at Arizona State University, continuing his drive to learn and grow.
Michael was known for his one-of-a-kind personality, infectious smile, and unmatched sense of humor. He had a gift for bringing people together, lighting up every room he entered, and making friends wherever life took him. A natural prankster and lover of fun, Michael lived life with energy, curiosity, and a deep love for adventure. He adored traveling, spending time at the shooting range with his best friend Ryan Stachowicz, and caring for his loyal dog, Banjo.
Despite his many passions, Michael's greatest joy came from time spent with his family. Whether building forts or playing video games with his little brothers, his playful spirit and big heart made every moment memorable. He was a kind, generous soul who never hesitated to help others and who valued the bonds of friendship and family above all else.
Michael's passing leaves a void that can never be filled, but his spirit, laughter, and love will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know him. He was truly one of a kind, and his memory will forever be treasured. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Saturday, November 15, 2025, 10 AM - 12 Noon at the Cavanagh Family Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood, PA 19074, followed by his service at 12 Noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Michael D. Marvel requests donations in Michael's memory be made to the Disabled American Veterans association at dav.org.
