Michael James McBride, Sr., 67, of Lake Charles passed away at 12:06 AM on Saturday, January 17, 2026 in his residence.
Mr. McBride was born on July 6, 1958, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He spent most of his life in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
He was a graduate of Barbe High School and continued his education at Midwest Christian College in Oklahoma. Mr. McBride dedicated more than 20 years of service to the local industrial workforce, where he worked as an operator.
He was a faithful member of Maplewood First Baptist Church. In his free time, he greatly enjoyed hunting, finding peace and joy outdoors.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Michael McBride, Jr. (Jessica), Matthew McBride (Kristina), and Marcus McBride (Kelley); siblings, Carl McBride and Julie Moore; the mother of his children, Mona McBride; and seven grandchildren, Brianna Faulker (Lane), and Jaidyn, Ryleigh, Savanna, Makaila, Annabella, and Nathan McBride.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Betty McBride.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 23, 2026 in the Johnson Funeral Home chapel in Lake Charles. Dr. Jeremy Blocker will officiate. Burial will follow in Black Bayou Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM and continue until the start of the service.
