Michael McClellan

Michael Eugene McClellan, 80, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at AnMed Health Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Anderson on September 14, 1945, he was the son of the late Willie Eugene and Frances Webb McClellan. Michael was a proud Army veteran who served in the Vietnam War. He retired from the Bell South Company after enjoying a long career of loyal service. In his personal time, he loved traveling, motorcycle riding, camping, fishing, and bluegrass music. Above all else, he enjoyed time spent with his beloved family and worshiping the Lord with them. Micheal was a loving and devoted member of Asbury Baptist Church where he previously served as a Deacon.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Violet Rowland McClellan; children, Andy McClellan (Amy) and Tessa Mullinax; grandchildren raised in the home, Maggie McCullough (Cody) and Jacob McClellan; grandchildren, Rachel McClellan, Ian McClellan, and Sam McClellan; great-grandson, Zane "Zero" McCullough; sister, Beth McAlister (Jack), as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Michael is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bessie and Dudley Webb, who were a very important part of his life and upbringing.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 PM on Monday, January 12, 2026, at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery conducted by Rev. Delennon Stowe. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until 1 PM Monday at Sullivan-King Mortuary prior to the service.
