Michael Joseph "Mikey Joe" McDowell, 53, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at his home.
Mikey Joe was born in Evansville, Indiana on December 7, 1972, to Michael Ray and Cathy Ann (Gibson) McDowell. He worked as a roofer for Head's Construction for over 30 years. Mikey Joe loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mikey Joe was also a great cook and liked vacationing in Destin, FL. He always looked after others and was willing to lend a helping hand. Above all, Mikey Joe loved his family. He was a great father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed.
Mikey Joe is survived by his daughters, Brittney Spalding (Denver), Destiney McDowell, and Madison McDowell; sons, Christian France and Skyler McDowell; parents, Michael Ray and Cathy Ann (Gibson) McDowell; sister, Tracey McDowell; brothers, Bryan McDowell and James McDowell (Kristy); and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Mikey Joe was preceded in death by his uncle Jimbo; grandparents, Roy and Evelyn Gibson; and longtime friend, Shawn Gaffney.
A celebration of Mikey Joe's life will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711, with Pastor Larry Davis officiating.
Friends may visit from 4:00 pm until service time on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Browning Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to North Youth Baseball, 45 Don Mattingly Way, Evansville, IN 47711.
